Hello, I’m Dr. Kimberly Johnson, and I bring 19 years of experience in education to my role as Assistant Principal. My journey began in 2004 in Orlando, Florida, with Orange County Public Schools, where I taught grades K–3, worked as a Reading Recovery teacher, and served as an Intervention Specialist supporting high-risk students in grades 3–5 with academic and behavioral needs. I also had the opportunity to support early childhood educators as an Early Childhood Coordinator for 4C Orlando, a nonprofit organization where I taught state-mandated adult courses in child development and mentored professionals pursuing their Child Development Associate (CDA) credential.

I earned my bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Tennessee State University, followed by a master’s in Curriculum and Instruction and a Doctorate in Reading and Literacy from Capella University. I also completed graduate coursework toward certification in Administration and Leadership.

As a former military child, I feel deeply honored to serve military-connected students. Since 2015, I’ve worked with the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) in both the Americas and Pacific East regions. I’ve served as a Sure Start teacher, K–3 educator, Literacy Support Specialist, and Instructional Systems Specialist (ISS) in Literacy and Professional Learning. Through these roles, I’ve supported school improvement efforts, delivered professional development, and helped guide instructional practices aligned with 21st-century learning and college and career readiness standards.

As an Assistant Principal, I am passionate about creating a safe and inclusive learning environment where every student feels valued and inspired to reach their full potential. I believe in the power of evidence-based practices, the thoughtful use of technology in instruction, and ongoing professional development to support the success of both students and educators. I’m committed to working collaboratively with our school community to help every learner thrive.
